SabreSailor Posted September 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2010 If your travel agent has given you a freebie dinner-for-two at the Pinnacle on the Nieuw Amsterdam or Eurodam, can that be exchanged on board for the less-expensive Tamarind? jtl513 Posted September 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2010 If your travel agent has given you a freebie dinner-for-two at the Pinnacle on the Nieuw Amsterdam or Eurodam, can that be exchanged on board for the less-expensive Tamarind?Probably. It may be a "return for credit" and then a new booking at the T. Or, maybe you can do a direct exchange for the Tamarind Rijsttafel dinner, which is $20! You get everything on this menu: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=151061&d=1269709719
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2010 In all probablity you will have to turn into the front office the certifcate gift card that you will get from your TA. They will credit your shipboard account with the apporpriate amount. Then you can make the reservations for the Tamarind and it will be charged to your shipboard account. aliaschief Posted September 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2010 IMO I would go to both..Great venues! The Tamarind was so great that on our MS Eurodam cruise last December we ate in the MDR only once. The Rijsttafel Dinner is a great culinary experience. Rabarro Posted September 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2010 Here, Here! We would, and did, go to both. Totally different, totally wonderful. Be careful, they do overfeed you! And that is saying a lot for a cruise ship. I have yet to have a ribeye steak on land which matchs the Pinacle and I go to great steakhouses. And the Tamarind...don't get me started...outrageous. Steph27 Posted September 22, 2010 #19 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Thank you so much for taking the time to write out all the menus. We will be on the Eurodam in 2 weeks and this is very helpful!! We have already booked Tamarind for 3 nights but may add more now! We get a complimentary dinner in Pinnacle the first night by booking with Amex Plat. Travel. However, I find the Tamarind menu more appealing so not really looking forward to the Pinnacle. It will be interesting to compare Tamarind with the Silk Harvest on Solstice. Relda Posted October 7, 2010 #20 Share Posted October 7, 2010 We were on the Eurodam this summer and we never ate in the Main dining room once - we were either at the Pinnacle, the Tamarind or we just went to the Lido.
