Cruisinchristie Posted October 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2010 We went on Bernard's tour last spring while in St. Martin and went around the island and to Orient beach, the market/bakery area (Marigot?), Maho, and back to ship (it was great) but now I am looking for something different to do - any suggestions? It is me, DH, and our boys 6 & 8. We will be in port on a Wed. from 8-6. We definitely want to go back to Maho in the afternoon, but other than that we are open to new ideas. Has anyone just negotiated a taxi for the day at the pier? How much would that be for the day? Or should we reserve a private co in advance for the day? I don't want to do a set "tour" with a bunch of people. Thanks! Christie

Christie Having toured with Bernard's group, you might consider a private tour with Joyce Prince, the other tour guide highly recommended on these boards. She does only personalized, private tours for smaller groups. Wednesday is market day in Marigot, so I'd definitely include a(nother?) visit to the Marigot Marketplace. But while in the area you should consider a climb up to Fort Louis for the fantastic views. Maybe lunch at one of the beachfront lolo's in Grand Case? The Zoo (St. Maarten Park) and/or the Butterfly Farm might be options for the kids. But everyone should enjoy the visit to Maho for the planes (were the kids with you first visit?). And did you have the chance to visit Rima's for their discount selection of beachwear? gary
