COLGATE Posted October 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Will be on Azamara for the first time and need advice re tipping. I understand that Azamara's stated policy on tipping is that 'it is neither expected nor required'. Is Azamara truly different in this regard, or is it simply the same as other good lines like HAL or Celebrity, where a certain fee is automatically charged per day for tips and you then tip whatever you feel appropriate in addition to the base tip? Do Cruisers typically tip on Azamara? And, if so, any guidance as to amounts? Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give me with this. :)
geocruiser Posted October 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2010 Tipping is included in the cruise fare. But you can tip more if you want too. But don't have too. We were a group of 8 last Azamara cruise every night we were seated at the same table, a few of us were big eaters. They were so good to us. All 8 of us left them extra and also left our butler extra too. Maria
alcpa1 Posted October 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2010 We found on our recent Journey cruise that the crew had no expectations (hints) for an additional tip. It was thoroughly refreshing. We did tip our Rosalee, precious stateroom attendant and her assistant. We also gave a few others a little extra. Have a wonderful cruise.
COLGATE Posted October 23, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted October 23, 2010 Thanks again to everyone who was kind enough to share their experience re tipping on Azamara with me. I agree that it will be refreshing to be in an environment where hints for tipping aren't 'our daily bread'. :)
