Last time we cruised we sailed out of Miami, My question is if you have early seating will you miss going under the bridge out of Tampa? Just wandering how long it is from port, we didn't exactly leave port at 4:00 last time for what ever reason just wandering.

It takes about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to get to the bridge so depending on what time the ship leaves, you'll reach it around 6:00 - 6:30.

If you're really excited about seeing the ship the bridge, you may want to eat in the buffet that night.

It really is awesome to see!

We've gone under the bridge many times and always made first sitting, we got there a little late but it being the first night it didn't seem to matter. We made sure to go down the stairs closest to our dinning room.

On October 24th, we passed under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge around 6:45pm.

We live nearby and will watch from land, but it is amazing to go under and see how close you really are. I had to wonder if the Highway Patrol Officer standing on the bridge gets tired of cruise ship passengers excitedly waving to him as we go under. Hope they rotate that guy out once in a while! :)
