Question About Solstice Cabins Under the Casino & Shops

Recommended Posts

We booked part of our family into Cabin 3134 on Eclipse. Deck plans show it to be underneath the Casino. I checked the Cabin threads and can't find any info about noise levels and such. Anyone with any experience in this cabin or those close to it? Thanks in advance.

PS: Not cruising til January, so no rush.

We are on the Solstice in February, same deck but have booked under the shops not the Casino. If you check the Thread about the cabins not one mentions an inside or an ocean view, guess no one travels in those. LOL.

SOOO, I will be interested to see if anyone answers your question. For both of us I hope they do. Time will tell.

Thanks for letting us know we're not the only ones wondering about these cabins. We old folks have a Concierge Level cabin booked; our 22 yr old son and his 18 month old daughter will be in 3134, and (if worse comes to worse), we'll move the baby to our cabin.

Personally, I don't think it'll be a problem, but this is the right place to ask q's like that - people are always very helpful. And yes, it does seem odd no one ever mentions cruising in those cabins:confused: Maybe its the "Bermuda Triangle" of cruise ships - no one ever returns:eek::rolleyes:

Hello:

I too am travelling with "Illusion" on Feb 6/11 sailing & also have a room booked on the plaza deck. I had called Celebrity directly to inquire about the noise level if booked a room under the casino. I was told for whatever it is worth that there would be no noise at all!

Hopefully someone will answer you soon that has had a cabin under the casino.

My family will be in 3133/3135 on the Solstace in February. Very little information about rooms on that deck. I am interested to hear comments as well.

My goal is always to get aboard as inexpensively as possible. I am not in my room much. It is just a place to sleep for us, and with four of us, the higher level rooms become costly very quickly.

Okay, I think I've figured this out. Probably not a Bermuda Triangle thing - relatives would miss them.

My new theory : Celeb must give special bonuses to cruisers in these cabins. They prob get free champagne, dinners from the specialty restaurants every night, Etc.. And, since the perks are so great, these cruisers are selfishly keeping that secret all to themselves!:D

This made me think of the Solstice. When were in the Sky Lounge for cocktail hour -- the basketball court was super loud, which is on top of the Sky Lounge. You could hear the running and ball dribble. Makes me wonder if that was thought of when the ship was built.

That certainly does make for interesting reading, does it make me want to change cabins ?? NO. Have been on the lower decks before and have never run into any problems. Would hate to be in the cabins on the top decks, paying top $$ and having noise issues as they also indicate so will take my chances. Having said that we are in the section that they indicate "may" be noiseless. LOL.

Amazing what you can find on the Net, and I thought I'd looked everywhere.

The cabin under the Casino is booked for our son and his (by then) 20 month old daughter. She's a pretty sound sleeper, but fortunately we do have our Concierge Deck cabin also, and if there'a any problems we'll bring her up there.

You will LOVE THEM! We just returned from 3135 and were very concerned beforehand...would do again in a heartbeat! Perfect location, close to everything, view from window is terrific, just couldn't have enjoyed more. We were with friends on Continental Deck and they had a veranda and don't think they enjoyed any more than we did, plus we were able to get everywhere we wanted quicker Highly recommend.

I had looked everywhere and no one could say about the ov under the casino on plaza deck of Eclipse....just returned from a 3 nighter in 3146 and our friends had 3126-we were directly under the casino and heard NO noise or anything! We did not even hear the loud music in the main foyer just a few cabins away(door to hall was closed) we usually get bal. or above but was very pleased with this cabin-close to everything -including the bar(O: and had a great view when we were docked. I don't know how they soundproofed it but I had first hand knowledge of the noisy casino(unfortunatly) and couldn't believe how quiet it was when I returned-empty handed. This ov was almost as large as our bal. on the Adventure in May!

Now that my mind was at ease about these Plaza Deck rooms, I saw today a price drop for my sailing. Same price now to move from Ocean View Plaza Deck to category 2C, partially obstructed VERNADA on Continental Deck.

Hello veranda, goodbye ocean view! I am really excited!

Eclipse is an absolutely beautiful ship. Food was outstanding, and we have no significant complaints.

Staterrom 3134: its located under shops. The only time I heard any noises above was overnight - there must be crew passages behind the shops. It didn't bother me (this was our DS' cabin but we took turns staying with our DGD), but it might possibly affect a light sleeper.

We've had OV cabins before, but on higher decks. Our DS found it somewhat disconcerting to look out his window and see waves right below it! Simple solution: keep the curtains closed if it bothers you.

Nice amenities in all cabins: besides small bottles of lotion, shampoo and conditioner, plus bar soap, there were q-tips and cotton balls (not overly significant, but something you don't have to worry about packing.
