??? for Seattle-in-the-know

Recommended Posts

Crab season is primarily in the winter so if the boats reposition to Seattle it would be sometime beginning around April and then would head back up to Alaska around September. Many are moored in Ballard, Fishermans Terminal. Some of them do other fisheries like Opilio so stay in Alaska. You may want to contact someone at Fisherman’s Terminal for more info.

I work just above Fisherman's Terminal. Unfortunately there are so many people that want to visit these boats that when they are back here in Seattle for the off-season they are kind of hidden away. Too many people trying to get onboard and (sadly) stealing things.

However the Sea Star is usually at Fisherman's Terminal in the summertime and open for tours and a small gift shop.

Just cruise Ballard for the day and you might even see Sig! ;)
