hcf Posted February 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2005 Does anyone know if some ships might be willing to store the fish you caught in their freezer? Perhaps for a fee? Has anyone even explorered this? We will be on the Norwegian Dream for a 10-day Alaska cruise and thought maybe we will do some fishing. Thanks

Thanks I have looked into this and the fine print either in the excursion brochure or cruise catalog will spell out the fact that they will not do this. Often, the fishing company will pack, freeze, and ship for you - for a fee, of course. Have a great cruise!
Budget Queen Posted February 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2005 NCL will not. But they may prepare some for you for dinner? HAL in the past did allow fish storage with an approve container. Don't know if they still allow this?
alaskandude Posted February 26, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2005 I agree with budget queen. I think the only lines that lets it onboards is HAL. Where are you going fishing at?
Snoofer Posted February 28, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2005 We went Salmon fishing last season in Ketchikan on Princess. They took our fish from the dock back to the ship, cooked and delivered to our dining room table. It was phenomenal! Would like to find out if RCCl does the same. widehunters3 Posted February 28, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2005 snoofer Glad to hear that information. My husband plans to go fishing also. We will be on the PRINCESS Dawn Aug 29, 2005, that will be great if they would cook it for us. (Crossing my fingers that he will catch something)
Mike2131 Posted February 28, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2005 I remember the answer from Celebrity as being a polite but, firm, no (storage or preparation). It seems that the experience of other posters were either great one-off experiences or differences in policy from their cruise lines. We have only traveled to Alaska with Celebrity and understood the policy was universal. If Princess and HAL offer different treatment of passenger catches, that is outstanding and I stand corrected! Have a great cruise!
