sludger Posted January 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2011 Royal Caribbean is turning its attention to the singles market and says it will look into introducing solo cabins on several of its ships over the next few years. The cruise line’s president, Adam Goldstein, acknowledged the demand for solo accommodation on cruises and said that the company was planning to create space for single travellers when it revamps its existing ships next year. Going solo: Radiance of the Seas will offer single cabins after it gets a revamp During a seminar onboard Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas, Goldstein told international travel agents: 'Our organisation’s business model depends on having two or more people in a stateroom, so we have traditionally been focused on that. 'We probably won’t make any big changes to our two new biggest ships [Oasis and Allure], but we recognize that there is a demand for the single traveller business. 'We are going to be revitalizing our older ships such as Radiance of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas, and so we will have opportunity to create spaces for single travellers then. The_Big_M Posted January 19, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2011 That article is from November last year. While it was/is something they have in mind (or are "looking at" as said in the article), particularly after Epic's success, it's not likely to happen in Radiance's refurb at this stage.
