1aCruise4wks Posted January 29, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2011 Just got a notice from our travel agent that the Ruby Princess will be boarding at Port Everglades Terminal 29 for the February 6, 2011 sailing. We are driving to the port. We driven to the port before but have always boarded at Terminal 2. We just parked right there at the parking garage and walked over to the terminal. Our travel agent indicated that we should park in the Midport Parking Garage. Looking at the map of the port, that garage is pretty far away from Terminal 29. Have any of you experienced this situation? Is it a reasonable walk from the Midport garage to Terminal 29? Also, we are cruising for two weeks (back-to-back). What happens if the ship returns to Terminal 2? How does one get from Terminal 2 to the Midport Parking Garage. From the map, it looks like a good distance away! rkacruiser Posted January 29, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2011 There will be shuttles that operate from the Midport Garage to Pier 29. Drop your luggage off at the pier, then go to the Midport Garage to park your car. The shuttles will be on the East side of the garage. I would imagine that there would be shuttles from Pier 2 to the Midport Garage if your car was parked there. I have not experienced this kind of situation and don't know for sure. A call to Port Everglades might answer your question. Their Marketing Office's number is 954-523-3404.

Would suggest that you drop your luggage off, then proceed to the Midport Garage. They will have a shuttle there for you. If you should arrive back at a different docking space, they have a shuttle to return you to your appropriate garage. After you collect your luggage, tell the porter to whichever garage you may need. Not sure, but don't think you can walk from midport garage to pier 29 (haven't looked at the port map) Have a wonderful cruise. We are sailing on Feb. 6th also on the Emerald Princess and assume we will be at Pier 2 (but one never knows for sure). The port authority determines which ship parks where!! madgolfer3 Posted January 29, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2011 Often the shuttles between port parking garages are crowded with luggage compounding the problem. Recommend you look into off port parking. Both Park and Fly and Park and Go are just outside the gate nearest the airport and will shuttle you to the terminal and pick you up when you get back into port. We have found both companies to be prompt and efficient. They are also cheaper than port parking. Good Luck.
iratherbesailing Posted January 29, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2011 we are sailing first with Holland america and then getting of that ship onto a Princess ship. Do you think we could get to the next pier using the shuttle?
foflocruiser Posted January 30, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2011 Free Shuttles. Depends on what pier Ruby will return to. When you drop off your luggage at Terminal 29 and head out to park, there will be an AFrame sign (with Arrows) that will tell you where to park.
