'savor your destination: food specialty cruise'

Hi, all! DM and I are sailing the Equinox on 4/22 (10 night Caribbean). Our sailing is a 'savor your desitnation: food specialty cruise'. wondering if there's anybody who's been on a similar theme sailing that's willing to share their tips & thoughts? any particular stand out activities? dailies would be awesome, too!

We were on one in Sept on Solstice with chef Simon Stojanovic from AltaMare of Miami Beach.

The first event where we saw him was on the galley tour. Mostly it was just an introduction of him and all the head chefs and a galley tour. This tour was offered twice on our 7 day cruise.

Then at 10:00 on a seaday there was a Global Flavors Cooking Demonstration by Simon and the Executive chef, Panos Georgopoulos. It was billed as a light heated cooking demo as they cooked some of their favorite dishes. They were both quite entertaining and there were samples afterward. It was held in the Celebrity Central area. The recipes were available.

 

Another day there was a Star Chefs Cooking Show in the large theatre at 10:30 am. Each chef called for an assistant from the audience and there were 3 members from the audience chosen to be judges. They set it up like an Iron Chef challenge, and each of them had to prepare 2 dishes in 20 min. They entertained as they worked and even managed to teach us a little. Chef Panos loves to get a laugh from the crowd, so be prepared!

 

There was also a wine pairing meal at Muranos which chef Simon cooking and planning. We did not attend this event.
