All booked on the Breeze for the Transatlantic in November!

I couldn't be more excited! This is my first cruise, and I'm going solo- so it's nice to know there will be some "family" onboard!

Welcome, Wm.Scott

Wow, what an ambitious first cruise itinerary.

You'll be hooked after a few day of cruising.

Our group is coming from Ft Laud, Tampa, Chicago and I'm 2 hours south of St Louis.

We are still checking out flights. Right now, three of us are planning to meet in NYC and travel non stop to Barcelona. We are leaving the 2nd of November.

I'll be flying into St Louis from Cape Girardeau and on to NYC.

We are staying across the street from the Sagrada Familia.

Froufie,

I see that the main Breeze rollcall is staying very lively. It's only 5 months, now!

Did you check out 1800 fly europe dot com? I booked my flight

for around $460 something. I forgot the exact total. I am flying

into Madrid though. But my roomie is flying to Barcelona from

Pittsburgh and paid not much more with a layover at Kennedy.

She does not want to stay before. I planned the Madrid/Seville

excursion before she wanted to go. Lots on the regular roll call

booked flights witg them.

Hiya Rick - how's it going?

Yup - trying to keep everything happy and 'flowing' :) - lots of fun plans and tours taking shape! In fact looks pretty busy to me - hoping to sit outside a few days just watching the ocean go by when we do the crossing ;)

JP,

Thanks, for the flight info.

I have been checking rates on 800FlyEurope;CheapoAir;SkyScanner;GetawayASAP;ITA; and, OneTravel.

The main problem is coordinating three or four flights into a gateway USA city to BCN so we'll all be on the same plane.

Thanks, for reenergizing the gay Breeze transatlantic thread.

Yeah, I'm sure this will be the first of MANY!

I've got my flight arrangements already made- I will be flying from St Louis to London, to visit my sister who lives there, then flying into Barcelona the day before on EasyJet <cringe>. Found a dirt cheap pensione to stay in, right off Las Ramblas and very near to the Cruise Terminals.

I cannot believe how inexpensive this itinerary has turned out to be! Booked the cruise on an Early Saver Rate (but had to pay double, since I'm cruising solo... Grrr...), flight from London to Barcelona- €49, Pensione in Barcelona-€20.

Needless to say, The Breeze will be sheer luxury in comparison to my travels to and accommodation in Barcelona! Ha!

Hey Rick - tried to send you an email but it bounced back!:( Not sure if you are following the main roll call thread - but they are making 'inquiries' about the pre-cruise dinner - looks like you(4 people) are signed up? You may want to confirm if you are still planning to attend.

Good luck with your flight plans! ;)

Here's a photo of the view from our apt in Barcelona showing the Sagrada Familia.

We'll be staying there from the 2nd to 6th of Nov 2012, then boarding the Breeze for the TA.

I've been in Barcelona twice before. And I still have not visited

Sagrada Familia. :( And this November will be the third time and

I probably will not get there again.

The first time our group did the hop on hop off bus. The city was

very busy, very busy! It took us a long time to get on the bus and

it was slow going. It was noon and we still haven't got to anyone

important site. My sister actually suggested we get off and walk

a few block and get on another bus, when the "other" bus came

around to the new stop. It was the same bus we just got off of.

We all were getting frustrated and ditched the bus. We did manage

to walk the Passeig de Gracia and Las Ramblas. Also got to see the

Hard Rock Cafe  . My sister and I split from the group

because they wanted to go back to the ship. We did manage to

visit the Gothic Cathedral, which was very nice.

The second time in Barcelona. Our group did a tour of Montserrat.

The tour was supposed to drop us off in the city center. But on the

way down from the mountain. The tour guide got word that a

transportation strike in Barcelona just went into effect. The tour

was now taking us directly back to the ship. So....no transportation

in Barcelona, mean no visiting Sagrada Familia

This time I am visiting Madrid before the cruise instead of Barcelona.

My train gets into the city about 10:30 am. I think it will be to

much of a hassle going to the pier dropping my luggage off then

trying to get back into the city. I would assume that all passengers

need to be on the ship by 4pm or so? That would only give me a

few hours to visit the church, and it would probably be at peak time

also. Maybe next time

Froufie - If you are near/at Sagrada Familia and don't stop and visit us at the apt,.....I'll be majorly disappointed. That Monday is our "nothing scheduled day", so let me know when you and any of your friends will be in the neighborhood and I'll make it a point to be "in residence".

JP,.....sorry you'll be in BCN only the day of departure. See you on board the Breeze.

LOL - thanks for the special invite - alas I will be on my super duper 'skip the line Best of Barcelona' tour with a couple of other roll call ladies - an all day event and somehow don't foresee having any 'spare' time...and of course no idea when we will be in the neighborhood - but it would be so cool so 'see' you guys lounging on your balcony sipping sangria while enjoying the view? ha ha ha;):p (I will be looking for the 'welcome froufie' sign hanging off your balcony! LOL)

Froufie,

You drive a tough bargain, lady!

Now I have to drape an apt sheet over the balcony (which will be deducted from our deposit), and make sure I have a felt tip marker to create a "welcome banner" for little ole you.

Consider it done!!!
