Guest enjoycruises Posted June 28, 2005 #53 Share Posted June 28, 2005 I bought and used the Entertainment book for $10 + $5 shipping. It was used for 2 restaurants and the Capliano Suspension Bridge. I thought it was well worth the $ spent.
mandrews2u Posted June 29, 2005 #54 Share Posted June 29, 2005 Does anyone know if these entertainment books contain anytype of a coupon discount for trip over to Victoria?????
Rare tetleytea Posted June 29, 2005 #55 Share Posted June 29, 2005 Not unless you're coming from Seattle. The Victoria Clipper coupons are in both the Seattle and Vancouver Island Entertainment books. I don't THINK it's in the Vancouver (city) one. Urban trekker Posted June 29, 2005 #56 Share Posted June 29, 2005 There is no coupon for the Victoria Clipper in the Vancouver book. Cheers Dennis
mandrews2u Posted July 1, 2005 #57 Share Posted July 1, 2005 I just ordered my entertainment book for vancouver, now there only 9.99, I would imagine if we only use it for the above mentioned restereraunt ( which seems nice from there website) and for the Suspension Bridge tickets, taht it will be quite a savings. Does anyone have any info on a Ferry to Victoria??
Rare tetleytea Posted July 1, 2005 #58 Share Posted July 1, 2005 The Vancouver ferries are cheap. Probably subsidized. I wouldn't expect to find promotionals on them. bcferries.com
mandrews2u Posted July 1, 2005 #59 Share Posted July 1, 2005 Thanks I wasn't looking for cheap ferries just a place to look, thanks, any suggestions of things to do while in Victoria??We will catch a ferry over in the morning and come back latest that day we can so that we will have a fullday there, does that sound feasable? Thanks, Mary-Ellen
Rare tetleytea Posted July 1, 2005 #60 Share Posted July 1, 2005 There are a number of threads on Victoria, and I'm a big fan of it. The majority opinion here is that Victoria needs to be an overnight trip, but--some people don't have that option. Don't know what to say. Generally speaking, Butchart Gardens and the Inner Harbour are the places to visit.
Urban trekker Posted July 1, 2005 #61 Share Posted July 1, 2005 Which method are you thinking of taking to reach Victoria - bus from downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria will take about 3 hours each way - so if you catch the first ferry at 7:AM and the last one back at 9:PM you will have a very long day. If driving - one or two sailing waits are common in the summer - particularily on the weekends - it is about $45.00 each way for the car + $10.00 each way for each passengers - you can reserve your car space for another $15.00 each way. In addition BC Ferries was just granted approval for a fuel surcharge of I think 5% effective in late July. Driving in Victoria is a challenge unless you plan on parking and walking through the city (recommended) While the trip through Active Pass is spendid and you could be catching a sunset on the return - it makes for a long day. It might be better to take a one day escorted bus tour from Vancouver - most of these will include the Buchart gardens in them. Hope this helps and that some of the Victorites on these boards will add there two cents worth. Cheers Dennis
