Bringing Alcohol from Acapulco Through Dallas

We're returning from a cruise in Acapulco, then flying on to Dallas then home. If purchasing alcohol in the Acapulco airport, can we keep it in our carryon luggage all the way home, or would we have to recheck through security in Dallas? This happened to us once coming back from Mexico through Los Angeles, and we had to put the alcohol from our carryon into our checked luggage because we went out of the secure area - what a hassle! Also, how much alcohol can be brought back? Thanks for sharing any info you may have on this.

You canNOT take liquids in your carryon luggage ,only the 3oz size allowed in your baggy.It MUST be packed in a checked in suitcase.

This post pertains when purchasing alcohol at the gates after you've passed the security checkpoint. You can buy liquids over the 3 oz. limit there and take them in your carryons.

Duty-free only carry-on from Acapulco to Dallas. For the Dallas to your home city flight, you're required to pack that volume of liquid in your luggage. There's nothing - no liquor - I can buy in Acapulco that I can't buy at home - often for less cost. - so I've stopped doing that.

For your flight to your home city you will pass through security and so must have all liquids over 3oz packed into a checked suitcase!

I agree that there is nothing that is sooo cheap that I need to buy in Mexico!
