mathgeek1978 Posted February 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2011 Three questions: 1. The 3 nights that we are docked, is the gangway opened 24/7? 2. The 3 nights that we are docked, is the casino open? 3. Does the port side or starboard side balcony have better view during the days that we are docked. Thanks in advance. ShadowzBtlr Posted February 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2011 Answers #1 -- Yes, the gangway is open 24 hours for each night in port #2 -- No, the casino, as well as the on-board shops are closed while in port #3 -- if the ship is tied up on the starboard (right) side, you will have a view of the Dockyard area. If tied up on the port side, you will have a view of the harbor and the bay on the north.
SailBadtheSinner Posted February 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2011 There is no way to predict which side of the cruise ship will be to the dock. Here are some deciding factors in determining which side goes to the dock: maintenance needs, safety drills/lifeboat testing and weather. It has been posted by locals that on multi-day visits the cruise ship, once in while, has changed sides during the night. There are no bad views when docked at the Dockyard; you are in Bermuda :D ! LustforLife Posted February 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2011 I realize the shops are closed but what about the photographs they sell? Do you have to wait until the end of the cruise to select photos or are they on sale each evening?

mathgeek1978 Posted February 27, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted February 27, 2011 I have 3 more questions: 1. How's the general weather in June during the sea days and also in Bermuda? 2. Should we fly into JFK or EWR (Newark)? 3. The 3 days and 2 nights that we are docked, are there enough night life and deck parties on the ship, or do they exepct that most people will hang out in Bermuda and limit the activities on the ship? Thanks in advance for your replies.

I always take my sardines and saltines. :D 2. Fly into EWR. It's the closest to Cape Liberty. 3. There are always activities on the ship, but you might want to head over to the Frog & Onion one evening for some "locals" entertainment.
