Excursion Description Enjoy island sightseeing and then escape to Grand Turk’s famous Governor’s Beach for a relaxing day of sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling! On this excursion you will: Enjoy island sightseeing and then escape to the famous Governor’s Beach for a relaxing day of sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling! Your guide will provide cultural and historical information as you drive to special points of interest on this small island. Begin with a photo stop at John Glenn’s commemorative capsule and the “salt pans”, evidence of Grand Turk’s salt-raking past. You’ll see the historic homes along quaint Duke Street and visit the Grand Turk Methodist Church where you’ll learn about its architecture and significance to the island’s culture. Stroll along Front Street as your guide points out areas of interest, including the Anglican Church, the Victoria Library, and other historical buildings. Reboard your bus for the ride to Governor’s Beach, a protected area within the Columbus Landfall National Park where you can enjoy snorkeling, swimming, or simply relax on your complimentary lounge chair.
