How do i win a bid on priceline?

I've been trying to bid different amounts like some of you have said you won. If I want to spend no more than 100$ what star amount should I click? I keep clicking 4 star but I get denied at $85. Do I just keep trying every day? Or should I lower the star value? I'm looking for the night before we head out in San Juan, on May 1st.

Thanks everyone!!!

We used Priceline twice to book hotels in San Juan and were sucessful both times. Here's what I did:

Selected Resorts and San Juan and named a price of $95 and won.

Another time I selected the same paramaters and won for $100 I think.

I stayed at the Marriott Stellaris and the Hilton Caribe. Both were great.

When they rejected my bid one time I added Dorado as another location (because there were no resorts in Dorado) so it was a way to get another bid more quickly and knew I'd be in San Juan as there were no resorts in Dorado at the time.

There is a really great priceline bidding thread on the PR ports of call page:

We stayed at Caribe Hilton last year after our cruise and loved it. It is a beautiful property and we had someone tell us to get a room in the garden wing which was wonderful. Large newly remodeled rooms. The ones in the main building are older and not as nice (although oceanview). I bid on priceline and was very happy with our choice. I think I paid $80 or so a night.

Enjoy!:D
