dan1618 Posted April 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2011 Is it possible to predict with reasonable accuracy the formal nights (and maybe even the MCD?) Here is the itinerary: Day 1 - Ship departs Vancouver 5 PM Day 2 - Cruising Inside Passage Day 3 - AM - Cruising Tracy Fjord 2:30 PM - 10:00 PM - Juneau Day 4 - Skagway 7 AM-9PM Day 5 - Cruising Glacier Bay 10 AM-4PM Day 6 - Ketchikan 10 AM - 6 PM Day 7 - Cruising Inside Passage Day 8 - Disembarkation I am guessing they wouldn't do formal nights on any of the port days simply because they all cross well into dinner time, but I don't know for sure. If that is the case, it leaves Day 2, Day 5, and Day 7 as possibilities. Do they ever do a formal night the last night, or is that more likely to be the MCD? Thanks for any insight anyone can provide!
CowPrincess Posted April 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2011 Day 2 (cruising) and day 5 (Glacier Bay) would be my guess.... Be up early on Glacier Bay day to watch for whales.
jtl513 Posted April 14, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2011 Ditto 2 & 5. The night before debarkation is never formal.

Is that generally when to expect to have the best chance to see them, or is it hit and miss all day long? Thanks!
AZNative2000 Posted April 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2011 MCD (Master Chef Dinner) is typically the last night.
LindaKE Posted April 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 17, 2011 Day 2 (cruising) and day 5 (Glacier Bay) would be my guess.... This is what has been reported repeatedly.
dan1618 Posted April 17, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted April 17, 2011 This is what has been reported repeatedly. Perhaps I should have done more research in old posts? Seemed easier to simply ask and to be sure the information was current.
