Prine Rupert

I spent a couple of days in Prince Rupert ten years ago and really enjoyed the Museum of Northern British Columbia. It is a real treasure of native art and the gift shop was where I bought my only souvenirs during a two week trip. It's open until 8 pm.

If the ship offers a trip to the cannery east of town, I recommend that as well. It's more interesting than you would expect, especially the history of race, class and gender .

It should be light until at least 10 pm in July.

If you just want somewhere to go for a dink then I recommend the Crest Hotel lounge which is the best hotel in town plus offers a stunning view out overt he harbor and your ship which will be docked just down below.

However Prince Rupert has much to offer and if the sun shines on you while you are there you will find it a very beautiful city.
