dfields1814 Posted April 29, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2011 We were on the Baja deck on the Sea Princess. The balconies are smaller than balconies on the Baja deck on other larger ships. They are cut into the hull of the ship rather than sticking out. I don't care for this design. But we were on an Alaska cruise in late Sept. The hull acted a a great wind block. Yes, the balconies are smaller than any other Princess ship. The standard balcony is probably half the size of what you're probably used to... Remember, the Sea Princess is an older ship and the balconies are actually cut into the side of the ship and not stacked and tiered like on the more recent ships. You can see in this photo that they're not very deep... 432 by RickEk, on Flickr

Toto2Kansas Posted April 29, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2011 The Balcony in a regular balcony cabin is about 3 1/2-4 feet deep, by the width of the cabin, about 9 feet. There is room for a small round table and two chairs only. Mini suites on the port and starboard sides have a balcony the same depth, but twice the length. Aft minis vary depending on the deck of the mini suite. Here is a comparison of an AB Dolphin Deck aft mini and a standard AC side mini suite on the Sun Class ships. AB aft mini on Dolphin Deck balcony (notice we had only two loungers and a small square chairside table, but no table/chairs for dining, there just wasn't room for it): AC side mini:
