Transfer - Anchorage to Seward

DH and I will be on the Millennium Alaska SB and will be using Celebrity's transfer to get from Anchorage to Seward. Has anybody used Celebrity's transfer (train) and are there any differences (good or bad) vs. using the Alaska Railroad train? Thanks in advance for any responses.

There really is not much difference other than the coaches the lines use sit up high. I kind of like roaming the Alaska train myself. Either way, it really is one unique train ride.

rent a car in Anchorage and make the beautiful drive to Seward. This way you can leave when you want and stop along the way to take pictures. Even drive through Seward a bit for shopping or lunch before you return the car. Hertz has an office very close to the pier.

The train is a not to be missed experience. The scenery is just great. We are doing the trip for the 2nd time in a few weeks on our Millie cruise.

The train is amazing, we did the gold star service and it was well worth it. I can't guarentee the sunrise, but this will give you an idea
