dirvin0500 Posted May 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2011 Has anyone gone lately. I understand it's more costly than say, Jolly Beach or Grand Pineapple but it is Adults only and (from what I understand) a little more upscale. Thoughts and opinions? Also, do you just walk in a buy day passes or can you get them prior to arrival? Thanks for the help.....
coffeyk Posted May 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2011 The drinks are excellent. You name it they got it. Tons of fun frozen drinks, wine, beer, and good quality liquor. For lunch there is always a buffet open, café on the beach, and some days the pub serves lunch also. If you are in to water sports they have I think 3 snorkel trips a day plus I think 2 dive trips. Also you can take kayaks and hobie cats out. The beach is not private as none are in Antigua. The distance you can walk is probably less than ½ mile. It has been shrunk a bit from the storms but it’s still beautiful. The pools are so amazing though a lot of people are found lounging there. I think the cost is probably more than $100 but worth it in my opinion. For one there are NO KIDS on property. You will find some on the beach but not on the resort. Any other questions? dirvin0500 Posted May 11, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted May 11, 2011 One other thing...Do they have lockers or some other way to lock up your "stuff" when you go snorkeling or swimming rather than leaving it laying around?
coffeyk Posted May 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2011 I do not remember seeing any lockers. People did leave stuff around the pool. I would leave my snorkel gear on a chair while in the pool. You would not snorkel off the beach it would be a boat trip. The snorkeling is no good right off the beach. I would be a bit more reluctant to leave stuff on the beach however. splogger Posted May 17, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2011 Do you have to book ahead for a day pass? I would love to stay the day there. Thanks. Christine:)
coffeyk Posted May 20, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2011 You probably should to make sure they have room. If there is availability you probably do not however.
cheaptravel Posted June 18, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2011 How long of a trip is it to get to Sandal's ? Any recent reviews to be had ?
coffeyk Posted June 21, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2011 I stayed there just this past Sept, so pretty recent. I think its one of the nicers Sandals. The food, amendities, and drinks were great. The beach has been washed away from recent storms. If your mostly looking to lay on the beach it might not be the right choice. If the pools and other water activities are appealing then I would recommend it. As far as distance I think its close but can't give a time; sorry. Let me know if you have a particular question I may be able to answer.

I think the Jolly Beach day pass is $75 per day, so I'm trying to figure out the difference between the 2 places ... Thanks !
coffeyk Posted June 22, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2011 Its all you can eat and drink. You just walk up to the bar and order what you want. I did not think the drinks were watered down at all in my opinion; they were great. The food is also good. I'm not sure what hours you will be there but it may only be over lunch time. If you like your drinks you can probably get your $$ worth from that but food wise lunch is good but nothing super fancy. The dinners are excellent though. If you use the amenities that could add up as well.
Shamrockgirl Posted July 3, 2011 #11 Share Posted July 3, 2011 Does anyone know how to go about booking a day pass at Sandals? Also, how do you get there - taxi or do they have a shuttle? Sounds like a fun place to spend the day and I've always wanted to go to a Sandals resort.
CinWay Posted July 3, 2011 #12 Share Posted July 3, 2011 I just contacted Sandals and was advised that a day pass is $110.50. We are thinking about doing the same thing in February.

dirvin0500 Posted August 4, 2011 Author #14 Share Posted August 4, 2011 After much thought about cost, amenities, etc, we've decided that we could eat on a pretty much deserted ship for free, drink a LOT for $110, and have plenty of room at the pool on board. We'll do a little shopping and then it's a "Stay-cation" for us....
