we are also doing a greek island tour... did you use a tour for ephesus or do it on your own?

 

Just an afterthought. If you take the tour that includes the Virgin Mary's house make it your first stop. The house is very small and you are only allowed to go in single file - in the front door and out the back door. When we finished our tour there were 16 buses in the parking lot and the line to see the house was HUGE. You want to get there before the big tour buses arrive.

Missed your question yesterday.:( The hike up is a little on the strenuous side. Several people walked halfway up and then went back down, but it is very doable- and maybe a little easier than I described. :) There is a decent trail and the view from up their is well worth the effort.
