Rochmom Posted May 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2011 A friend & daughter are thinking of joining us on a late August cruise, and I'm wondering when is the better time to book for them. Should we do it right away, to make sure that we get (generally speaking) the cabin they want at the currently listed fare; or should we wait until the 75 day final payment mark and see if any other cabins become available and possibly there is a fare drop? I'm used to booking many months in advance, so I'd appreciate help from the experts.
firefly333 Posted May 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2011 Its hard to say as it sounds like they are not flexible about cabins or date. Its so close to final payment, if the price drops they are sunk. Maybe watch the pack n gos for a couple of weeks and see if your date is on there. Native Floridian 26 Posted May 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2011 Sorry, I'm pretty new to this board and Carnival after just sailing this month after 20 years or so. What is Pack N Go and where do you find these? Thanks!
*Mach* Posted May 27, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2011 Sorry, I'm pretty new to this board and Carnival after just sailing this month after 20 years or so. What is Pack N Go and where do you find these? Thanks! Pack 'n Go rates are offered quite close to the sailing date and are updated each Wednesday. The current lot are until July 28. They're for new bookings only and the cabins are 'guarantees'... in other words, you can't select your cabin, it will be assigned at a later date... http://www.carnival.com/cms/fun/specials/default.aspx :)
Justsyd Posted May 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2011 I would say to book now if they have a particular cabin that they want. If not, and they don't care what cabin they're in, wait to book.
golfadj Posted May 29, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 29, 2011 Prices go up and they go down depending upon how the cruise is selling. No way to predict future pricing.
