VT Cabin - Viewing Balcony?

We are considering doing the Eurodam in November and have never sailed HAL before. There is an interesting section of 'Verandah' staterooms in the VTcategory up on the observation deck. When you look at the layout it says it has a viewing balcony. The layout looks like it has sliding glass doors but just a curved plexiglas 'french balcony', with no true balcony with chairs and table.

Has any one had any experience in these stateroom? Could you just pull the sofa up to the doors to enjoy the view at cocktail time?

I think the door is hinged, not sliding, so you couldn't "extend" the balcony by sitting by an open door if that's what you meant. Besides, it isn't good to keep the door open except when you're passing through because it messes up the HVAC for other cabins in your zone. :)

From the pictures I've seen it's about a 30" radius almost-semi-circle that's best used for standing. Unlike most balconies, they are not covered.
