Casino Drink Card

Hello!

We will be traveling on the Jade Oct 8 for 7 days leaving on Venice. This cruise is comped via Caesars Properties (we love Vegas). Part of the comp includes drink cards to use in the casino so we don't have to pay for drinks... my question is, for any one who has experience using these cards... do you have to be playing to get the drinks or can you just be watching/sitting in the casino to get them? Can you leave the casino with the drinks? Any information would be helpful as this could possibly impact our bar tab at the end of the trip! ;)

Comped "house" drinks while you are playing in the casino. When you leave the casino you may take your drink with you. However, casino's on cruise ships are very different from land based, since they are smaller and intimate, everyone knows your name and who you are, and they know if you are "playing" or not, that is not to say that the servers really care though.

We were just on the Jewel in May and had no problem sitting at the bar and just relaxing with a drink ( although they did know our names and knew we also spent alot of time playing) Their was a sign posted at the exit stating that drinks could not be brought outisde the Casino however we often brought our drinks out to the shows and nobody ever said anything. This was also the first time our drink cards were marked with our names and sail dates. We suspect too many people were giving their drink cards to future cruisers that did not spend time in the casino and would get free drinks to go.

I had a drink card on both the Dawn and Star. I ordered the drink while playing but did carry my drink out of the casino. I didn't see any sign on either of those ships about drinks leaving the casino.

I spent enough time and money in the casino, that I really don't think they lost anything on the couple of drinks I took out.

I think anyone that is just using the drink card just for free booze on their cruise is ruining it for future cards being given. On the other hand if you have played enough to get comped a room through Caesars/Harrahs, I doubt you would really not play in the casino while you were on the ship.

My past two cruises I've had the drink card and I will have it on my next here in October. I've spent a lot of time playing in the casino on my trips. So much that when I walked in, there was a certain server that would already have me and my girlfriends drinks on the way. Seeing that I was tipping I'm sure that played a role in it. We did one time just swing thru and grab two drinks for a show and no one ever said anything. I'm sure that it wouldn't be a problem if you are a responsible drinker.
