ZAMOST Posted March 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2005 Interested in a cruise to Alaska. 1) The biggest problem: One of the three children is 19 and the main question is whether she is served alcohol on an Alaskan cruise, and whether she is allowed to gamble in the casino. 2) Any real difference between a cruise from Seattle versus Vancouver? 3) Any significant difference between the Celebrity cruise ships on an Alaskan itinerary? Thanks

Thanks According to Celebrity, you must be 18 years old to play in the casino and 21 years old to drink. Your daughter's sea pass card will be color coded so that the bar servers know that she is under age and cannot purchase alcololic drinks. However, that doesn't mean that an older person couldn't buy her a drink, just like anywhere on land...not legal, but it happens all the time. As far as the drinking and the casino--no difference between sailing from Vancouver or Seattle.
ZAMOST Posted March 20, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted March 20, 2005 When we were on a Celebrity cruises a few years ago in the Caribbean, wine and beer were allowed, with parents' permission for those 18-21. Is the issue that Alaska is US and thus 21 age limit? Are you ever out enough miles on an Alaska cruise where "international" rules apply?

It sounds like you are in favor of the 19 year old being able to drink. I was under the other impression. You would need to call Celebrity to clarify your questions.
