kgoodwin28 Posted June 29, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2011 Hey there. So I am a first time cruiser and starting to feel a little overwhelmed at all there is to know, do and things that must be done for your cruise. Our boat leaves Sept 19 from Miami. We are flying down the day before and staying the night in Miami. A few of my questions are: 1) Will I get documentation from Carnival on details such as where to go in order to get on the boat, things to do at the Ports, how to pay for things, etc? 2) What is the best website to book things to do when you port? I hear that doing it through the cruiseline is expensive, with advantages? 3) When should we schedule our flight home? Should we book later that evening just to be on the safe side? 4) Do we actually need passports? (Ports of Call Turks and Caicos, Carbbiean Cay/Cove, and Nassau) 5) Any advice, warnings, etc that you can fill me in on!! Thanks so much! I will attempt to answer your questions, I am sure others will chip in. 1. You will have to cokplete your funpass on line. This will give you much of the information that you want. 2. You can book through the cruiseline or yourself. Just make sure if you do it yourself that you gove yourself time to get back to the ship. Here is a link to the Destiny rollcalls. Find yours and drop in and say Hi!. There will be people there on your cruise and there will be muych discussion regarding excursions and such. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=328 3. The documentation of the fun pass should escribe best times for home flights, but after noon (if you are flying out of Miami) would be fine. When are you flying in? 4. You don't need a passport, but Carnival recommends one. If you don't have one, you will need a raised seal original birth certificate. You will not need this in port, but you will need a government photo ID (license) and your sign and sail card to get back on the ship. 5. Enjoy your cruise, 1st cruises set the bar for all others.
