zipadeedoodaa Posted July 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2011 Does anyone know if there is a Duty Paid shop, airside of security, at Terminal 5. I understand you cannot buy duty free goods if going to EU countries. I'm going to Italy and would like to make purchases of alcohol. Many thanks, Neville

T5LHR Posted July 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2011 Yes. When you come through either North or South security, down the escalator, and there are shops at both ends of the terminal which sell alcohol.

Paul S Posted July 18, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Neville, To expand on what the previous posters have said, all passengers can access all of the shops airside of security. If you are buying alcohol then there may be some items which have two prices, one for travellers within the EU and the other cheaper one for travellers going outside the EU. You will need to show your boarding card for all purchasers, so the staff at the till will know which is the right price for you. I've not yet flown from terminal 5 - I'll be doing so next month. However, the above applies at the other four Heathrow terminals, plus at Gatwick, Stansted and Luton, and I've no reason to think terminal 5 will be any different.
