Moday Blues.....Funny Cruise Stories

Having the monday blues at work, thinking about cruising and wanted a laugh. Anybody have a funny story to tell about a past cruise?

I cruze CCL very often..I am always seeing past staff/crew that calls me "Miss Helen", and they pick me out in a crowd..AS they tell me they see "tall, white BIG hair, in a crowd be for they see my face! Lots of hugs..and we all catch up on who, what, wheres.

I see lots of repeat guest for many cruzes as well. Seems we always look out for familiar friendly faces.

Carnival crew are the best with recognizing people and greeting them by name. I love it.

I was thinking of starting a similar thread because so far I have had a horrific day and needed something to lighten it.

 

When I was in Bonaire or Dominica on a Southern Caribbean itinerary, I purchased a big tightly wrapped plastic bag of finely ground sea salt.

 

I had packed it in a carry on bag for my flight back from Puerto Rico. When I went through security, and said the carry-on was mine, I was escorted to the corner of the screening area by TSA and local police.

 

The x-ray machine picked up this tightly wrapped unlabeled brick of a white powdery substance. They asked me what it was and I started laughing and told them it was sea salt. They gave me an irritated look like they didn't believe me and had me wait with the two police officers while they had another officer come and cut into the package to test it.

 

After the test came back negative, they sent me on my way. I just wonder how many people saw the 'drug bust' under way and had a great story to tell when they got home.

This happened on our first cruise. We had gone to the Shop Talk w/Kiwi James on the Ecstasy. We were sitting on about the 6th row from the stage and on the end. My honey and I were sitting there and Kiwi stated that the first person to bring me a pair of sun glasses would win a prize. Me, being overly hyper, jumped up and began to take off running (I had sunglasses on my head). As I did this I tripped and slid to the stage :o. Unfortantly, I was not the winner :( but Kiwi and the crowd could not stop laughing. As I got myself up I quickly turned around and walked back to my chair with my hand over my face and looked at my husband and he was looking down in embarrasement. As I set down, my wonderful husband just shook his head and said "That's my baby". I was a good sport and was laughing at myself too. Kiwi finally composed himself and gave me a goodie for my little incident. :D
