I always stay, pre a cruise starting from Southampton, at the Southampton Hilton. It is very close to the airport and if you book a stay and cruise package there you will be taxied to your ships berth and have an enjoyable overnight stay, both end of the cruise if you wish.

 

Their service is beyond reproach and the breakfast is superb!

It is out of town so not that practical for those without a car.
