When you book w/a group rate, you can only get price drops if the group rate drops, not the regular rates. This will be up to your TA or the person organizing the group to keep track of. Normally, group rates are not published to the general public.

You can get price drops if the rates drop, but the group rates will be higher than the rates you see in public... but lots of crazies all post when the rates drop and everyone calls the TAs.. if the general rates are dropping so are the group rates that include perks.

I booked a group for May 2012 at early saver rate. They added $10 per person for the group points.
