18 year olds?

I apologize if there have already been posts about this, but this is my first time over here on the Carnival boards because I've been at the Royal boards. My family is booking a cruise on the Dream in December and I was just wondering what all their is for 18 year olds to do? I'll be turning 18 just a couple months before the cruise and I'm still going to be in high school so I'm just curious as to what I will be able to do to keep myself entertained. On past cruises I've gone and met kids at the teen club thing, but being 18 soon that won't be an option. Any help would be appreciated! :)

there are a number of things that are 18+ on Carnival.

Our next cruise, July 2012, I will be 18, February 23, and I can't wait to be able to go into the Adult comedy shows, which are apparently carded every night. Casino is for 18+ is that's your thing, karaoke, dance parties. Check the fun times schedule every day, most things for people 18 and older have (18+) next to them.

How strict are they about the age limit in the teen clubs? Maybe you can still go? If not, there are dance clubs/lounges on every ship that can be pretty fun. There is something going on all day on the ship, they really make it a point to fill up your day, if you want. There are varieties of contests you can either join or watch. I have always enjoyed just lying by the pool reading a book. I don;t think you will run out of things to do though, or people to meet :)

Most of the cruise lines are VERY strict about the age of pax in the teen programs. In fact, NCL won't even slide you in if your birthday is during the cruise week itself.

To the OP, you'll be able to enjoy most of the adult activities...clubs, shows, etc. You will have a blast

My daughter just sailed for the first time as an 18 year old. Carnival is strict about age guidelines for teen clubs. She enjoyed the comedy club and other things she was now old enough for, but what she enjoyed most was meeting a friend her age to enjoy the cruise with. Unfortunately, Carnival has no type of activities for the 18-20 year olds which would allow them to meet each other, so you are kind of on your own to seek your peers out.

In the past, we have met people on our cruise through the role call. My daughter has even met friends her age who she was able to "get to know" before we cruised and then meet them face to face on the ship already knowing them. Just an idea.

ENJOY!!!!!

When in December? On our Dream cruise last January, there were tons of college kids, and hardly any high school kids. (3rd week of Jan)

My daughters love the comedy clubs, hanging out by the pool, etc. Typical cruise things. The dance club only allows you in if you are over 18. Bring a photo id with you - the sign & sail card was not good enough.

Thanks for all the responses I really appreciate them. We're cruising over Christmas so I feel like their should be quite a few people my age on board. In my past experiences with Carnival they wouldn't allow any fluctuation with ages. My sister and I are a year apart and at the time we weren't very outgoing yet and she was supposed to be part of the younger teen group and I wasn't old enough yet and they wouldn't let me join her. But I usually keep my school idea in my wallet so I'll have to try that one.

I know on Royal Caribbean they offer special activities for 18 to 20 year olds to get to know each other, do they offer those on Carnival?
