Caribbean Princess port/starboard?

We are on the eastern caribbean cruise on Caribbean Princess in October.

Would someone who's been on this cruise tell me which side of the ship will be facing the port as we come in St. Thomas?

and St. Maarten?

I booked starboard to start with, then someone told me to switch to port so we would have port views - but in looking at pictures, I think this is backwards.

Thanks for anyone's help on this!

We just got off the ship on Saturday. In all my cruises, this one included, I have never been on a ship that backed in to St. Thomas. Therefore, if you are on the starboard side, you will be facing the pier. The port side will have a great view of the harbor and mountains as a backdrop.

In St. Maarten, you can never tell. There is one pier, and they put two ships on each side of the pier. Some back in, some pull in forward. When we pulled in last week, we were on the right side of the pier facing forward. So, if you had a port balcony last week, all you saw in St. Maarten last week was the side of a Royal Caribbean ship. However, if you had a port balcony on the Royal Caribbean ship which was on the left side of the pier, you had a beautiful view of the harbor.

Just off CP Saturday and had D616 on the Port side.

In St. Thomas we had a view of the bay--beautiful when you open up the curtains!

In St. Marten we had a view of Explorer of the Seas as she came into dock.

In Princess Cays, we were looking directly at the beach.

I'd vote for a port side cabin anyday!
