Cheerysmom Posted September 12, 2011 #26 Share Posted September 12, 2011 We have brought a book about how to pronounce words in Boston .. .. It was hilarious because someone from the mid-west got it. Everyone at the M&M got a chuckle - even the few of us from NE - the pronounciations were spot-on! One of the nicest gifts I received in the gift exchange was a hand-made plaque with the state flowers of Wisconsin decoupaged on it. It was really pretty and someone really went to a lot of trouble to make it. It is hanging on my study wall right now.
OC PAT Posted September 12, 2011 Author #27 Share Posted September 12, 2011 I have a funny book on how to speak Baltimoreese. Just never ask someone from Baltimore for directions. IE-take a right on Blair rd. is really Bel Air road. You know funny little books for reading by the pool might be a good exchange gift. Someone suggested spices common to their hometown, as a good gift. I'm still working on the stocking. I know I'll include salt water taffy, maybe a Hershey's chocolate bar..., a two dollar bill or two, post cards with stamps...
