What to do for 2 days in Miami?

Recommended Posts

We have two full days (just about) before our cruise. We are staying downtown at the Intercontinental. I'd like to go to South Beach one day and then maybe go to the bayside marketplace that night for dinner. What to do the 2nd day?

How much will a cab fare be from Downtown to Southbeach? Where would I tell the cab driver to drop us off?

Any other Miami tips?

Hands down, this is the corniest, kookiest tour in the entire city. In fact, the company prefers to call these tours the "Quackiest" way to visit Miami and the Beaches. Whatever you call it, it's weird. The Watson Willy is the first of several planned Miami Duck Tours "vesicles," not a body party, but a hybrid name that means part vessel, part vehicle (technical name: Hydra Terra Amphibious Vehicle). Each "vesicle" seats 49 guests, plus a captain and tour guide and leaves from Watson Island behind Parrot Jungle Island, traveling through downtown Miami and South Beach. If you're image conscious, you may want to reconsider traveling down Ocean Drive in a duck. That's right, a duck, which is what the "vesicle" looks like. After driving the streets in the duck, you'll end up cruising Biscayne Bay, past all the swanky houses. Embarrassing or downright hilarious, Miami Duck Tours is definitely something unique.http://ticketing.ducktoursmiami.com/

Then there's the Seaquarium

Bayside

A great place to shop and enjoy light fare. Located right on the water with daily live music and water-taxi tours.

Coconut Grove

Shop for exchange rate bargains at the stores of Cocowalk. Then have a bite to eat or catch a movie in one of the most cosmopolitan districts of Miami.

Lincoln Road Mall in South Beach

A great place to shop and people-watch with quaint, outdoor cafes, in the city’s famous, art deco area.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

This Italian Renaissance-style villa, with more than 10 acres of formal gardens and fountains, sits gracefully on the edge of Biscayne Bay

Everglades Safari Park

Meander through dense foliage or catch a panoramic view of the area from the observation platform in the Jungle Trail. Enjoy the alligator wild life show, take an airboat ride, visit the gift shop and restaurant and try gator nuggets. Approximately 45 minutes, Miami.
