tropical gal Posted October 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2011 Just wondering if anyone has had an experience renting a cabana at Margaritaville in Grand Turk? Looks like the pool, bar, etc. is available for all to use. Not sure if it's worth the extra $ for the cabana? Thanks for any info!
Rare Kmkub Posted October 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2011 There's a ports-of-call forum designed for questions like this. I remember reading a bunch of threads about Margaritaville in Grand Turk. http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
1 HappyCruiser Posted October 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2011 I suppose if you have to sit in an air conditioned room it is but there are loads of chairs on the beach under shade trees right by the waters edge for free.
Donder1 Posted October 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2011 Have been there and wasn't impressed. We had a so so, expensive lunch, good but not fantastic, margaritas and great service. The music was loud, pool crowded, stayed maybe an hour or so. I'd say, visit but don't commit to a cabana. Waste of money, IMO.

I'm only aware of the cabana on the beach. If you need some respite from the sun and can't get chairs in some of the available shade, the cabana serves it's purpose - it was worth the cost for us. If you do choose to use one, make sure you leave the back up for more air circulation....it gets warm under there without enough air circulation. It's weird being on the beach and seeing the huge cruise ship docked so close!
