MRSBITS Posted October 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2011 On our previous cruises, we have easily determined the amount of travel insurance necessary based on our cruise and flights. Our next cruise will add an apartment rental in Paris and a hotel stay in Venice, prior to boarding the ship. Does anyone have experience with adding these costs to their total travel insurance policies?
sirwired Posted October 6, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2011 If it's pre-paid (and non-refundable) and/or subject to a difficult cancellation penalty, then the money you would lose should be part of the "trip cost." For instance, if you have to pay for a single night for cancelling a five-night hotel stay, you include that single night in your Trip Cost. If you only get a 50% refund for cancelling the apartment, you include that 50%.
