TedC Posted April 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2005 We'll be in Rotterdam on the Maasdam Aug. 2 and would like to go to Delft and perhaps The Hague. What was your experience and how did it work out? Thank you.
Ine Posted April 3, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2005 There is a good trainconnections - a few trains in a hour- between Rotterdam and those cities. You can take a cab or the tram, which stops near the Erasmusbrug (the white bridge you see from the ship) to Central Station. To Delft it will abt. 20 minutes, to The Hague about 30 minutes by train. Let me know if you need more info.
2forTravelin Posted April 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2005 We are also planning a trip from Rotterdam to Delft. Here is the website I found for train information. http://www.ns.nl In the upper right corner you will see the word English and if you click there, you'll get the English version. Hope this helps. TedC Posted April 4, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted April 4, 2005 Thank you Ine and 2forTravelin, It looks like the train is the way to go and I'm sure we'll have a great day. We'll probably go to Delft in the morning, then explore Rotterdam in the afternoon. We've been to Amsterdam before and enjoyed it very much. But we also like to go to new places, and after seeing "The Girl in the Pearl Earrring", we became even more interested in Delft. Thanks again for your help
Ine Posted April 4, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2005 Delft is a very nice old city, which you certainly will like. Visit Marktplein with the big old church, where dutch royalty is buried. If it interests you, you can pay a visit to "Porceleyne Fles" where the Delft Blue is made. http://www.royaldelft.nl/

Ine Posted April 8, 2005 #9 Share Posted April 8, 2005 Madurodam is a miniature Holland, but situated in The Hague, not Delft.
