My partner, Ric, and I will be on the GEM cruise to the Bahamas 1/1/12. This is my second cruise (Alaska about 15 years ago) but he is a newbie. Anyone else going on this cruise?

I'm wondering what the crowd at the FOD gatherings is normally like. Are they typically younger or older people? I'd love to meet some other guys around my age (late teens - early twenties) to hang out with during the cruise; is FOD the place to go?

It really depends - on our Gem cruise, there was only 2 gay couples (in their 40s I'd say) at the FOD meeting the first night and then no one at subsequent gatherings. If you don't care about the sexuality of the people and just care more for people your age, try Bliss at night, which usually attracts a younger crowd that likes to dance and drink. Have fun!

Your right, Attila, it probably depends on the cruise. Since no one had responded to my initial post, I was beginning to think that the only two FOD on the cruise were going to be my partner and me! :confused: My advice, Jack, would be to give a FOD gathering a try. You have nothing to lose. If you don't see anyone there that you may want to hang out with on the cruise, you always have the choice of not staying. Bliss sounds like an excellent idea as well. Enjoy your time away!

Jack, why don't you consider signing up for the CC meet and greet for our cruise. Looks like there are going to be others in their 20s there. You never know if one will be a FOD!
