clearwatergirl Posted December 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2011 We took a CCL excursion to Gumbalimba. wonderful trip. the only part that was a little "cheesy" was, you walk into a cave and there are pirate statues around. guide explains history of the island etc. The botanical gardens are beautiful. You walk over a suspended wooden bridge to get to the area that has birds and monkeys. the macaws were the largest i've ever seen and just exquisite. nice area. the monkeys are friendly for the most part. However, they can nip you. do no where hats and hide what ever you can in your pockets as they will try and steal anything on your person. Overall it was a nice excursion. I would recommend it at least once. :)
