Solo Cuiser - considering Celebrity Eclipse - only sailed Carnival

Hello everyone. I am looking to book a solo cruise in December and am considering the Celebrity Eclipse. I have been on one solo cruise and it was on the Carnival Dream. I had a great time and made a lot of great friends.

Not sure what to expect from Celebrity so thought I would get some advice from those that have sailed the line. About me: Female, early 40s but energy level that seems younger. Not a partier per se but am more of a night owl and enjoy nightlife (karaoke, bands, entertainment). I am very extroverted - strangers are only friends I have never met.

Questions:

Are solos made to feel welcome on this ship?

Is there a lot of evening activity? What time do things seem to slow down?

I enjoy the spa - Is there a charge for the T-Pool, steam rooms, etc similiar to Dream and can you buy a pass if not in an Aqua Class room?

Any general thoughts about Celebrity vs. Carnival for those that have been on both lines especially Dream vs. Eclipse?

I have enjoyed Carnival and am considering them for this next trip but thinking of trying something new. Not Carnival biased so all comments appreciated.

Thanks!!!

If you are looking to change things up from Carnival, Celebrity's sister line, RCI, may offer more of what you stated you are seeking. Celebrity tends to have less nightlife and staff organized activities than does Carnival and RCI. Celebrity also attracts an older crowd (on average) compared to Carnival and RCI (for cruises of similar duration, similar time of year). There is some activity after dinner on Celebrity (especially the martini bar and the casino on most sailings) but often the nightclub is not too energetic and not much late evening kareoke or party bands. RCI will be more similar to Carnival in terms of energy and nightlife and average age. RCI's newer ships tend to be more innovative than Carnival, so there are some unique venues that you may find appealing that would offer you something different from Carnival. Celebrity excels in providing a more sophisticated, upscale, relaxing type ambiance, but is not the best choice for night owls seeking action after late seating dinner.
