Hotel Recommendations in San Juan

Thinking about a cruise on the Adventurer in March and the only time I stayed in SJ was in the Condado Beach area. My question is, are there any hotels convenient to the PanAm pier area, I would appreciate any suggestions, any other recommendation would be welcomed as well.

the only thing that is sort of close to the pan am pier is the SHeraton by the convention center...it is not near anything really...BUT it is a very nice hotel and the staff was great when i was there...i actually arrived in the middle of the night, with no reservation, intending to just store my bags for a few hours, diddle around in the casino on the penny slots, eat and go to the ship.

 

The mind reading gal at the desk got me a part-day room (til about 3 PM the following day) for around 65 bucks.....i was only there about 7 hours, but it was money well spent.

 

The room was very clean, the pool was nice, decent food..and about 10 bucks or less to the pier....

 

again, there is nothing else over there (unless they've built anything) but it was a nice place, and since it isn't by the beach or OSJ sometimes the price is very good....

We stayed at Hampton Inn. It was very clean and comfortable. The people working there friendly and helpful. Room included a decent continental breakfast. Cost for 2 of us was right around $135 with the Triple A discount. There were many restaurants within walking distance for dinner. I would definitely stay there again.
