aarep Posted December 29, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2011 thinking about this hotel for feb 10, anyone stayed here? wondering how much taxi to the hotel and everglades port is. any restaurants and shops around there? We have stayed there both pre and post cruises. Cab from airport is about $15 and to port about $10 or $12. It is in a great location across street from beach. Also on Sun Trolley route and a close walk to Water Taxi. It is walking distance to restaurants and shops.
eandj Posted December 29, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2011 Agree it is a very good choice for a moderate hotel. Under new management now too. The tower rooms (best) are ideal to see the beach view. The Marina rooms overlook the boats and waterway. The standard rooms face gardens, walks etc. Three different pricings. The proximity to a busy water taxi stop, is great. As well as the trolley to flag down to head north to another nice area.
lukydog Posted December 29, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2011 thinking about this hotel for feb 10, anyone stayed here? wondering how much taxi to the hotel and everglades port is. any restaurants and shops around there? We stayed there in Sept and loved it! Directly across from Ft. Lauderdale Beach, 1 block from the water taxi and 1 block from Ft. Lauderdale Beach boardwalk (which has lots of bars/restaurants/shops) . We booked a car with the hotel concierge to get to port & I believe it was $25. Don't remember how much taxi to hotel was..$25 or less I think. The hotel/rooms/pool area nice. There is a good restaurant and also a nice convenience/deli store on the property. royalcruz Posted December 30, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 30, 2011 Bahia Cabana is a block away and Coconuts is about 3 blocks away. Those would be my restaurant choices for outdoor dining and Coconuts has indoor dining too. There are a few shops on the strip and at Beachplace, mostly they sell cheap beachwear and tshirts, and there is a CVS. Hotel taxi about $20-25, port taxi about $15.
