Emerald Lake vs Yukon

My husband and I are interested in doing some hiking while in Juneau. Does anyone have any suggestions on trails? We are in our 20's, very active, but we aren't trying to take up our entire day or do something where we could injure ourselves. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

We love the trails at the top of Mt. Roberts Tramway, all the way up to the cross - just really nice with spectacular views. Not sure if they will all be clear of snow though when you go. We ran into some snow when we were there the first week of June back in 2008, but your mileage may vary;). Also great trails around Mendenhall Glacier area, and if you have a rental car, drive out to Eagle Beach and the Shrine, great hiking with tons of trails and amazing water views.

End of June will have the trails, fully "open".

Your post has, Yukon and Skagway in the title?? Do you have other touring plans in Juneau? A long port day? Any interest in a car rental?

Mt Roberts is right accessable at the dock, can consider going up or down on the switchback trail- but do not consider this, if it is wet or had been raining in the days prior. Gets like a mud slick.

The East Loop, and then the add on Nugget Creek, is a good work out at Mendenhall. :)
