Drink Pass?

I am sailing on the Epic in March and was wondering how the drinks work. Is there some kind of a drink pass for alcoholic beverages? Non alcoholic? I want to make sure I inform my friends correctly!:p

There is a soda card package; no alcohol package for non-group passengers:

 

Unlimited Fountain Soda

Includes: Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Sierra Mist, Mt. Dew, Ginger Ale, Tonic water, Club Soda.

The entire cruise must be purchased. Non-Refundable.

Prepaid @ $6.25 per person per day x Cruise days plus 15% gratuity

and applicable taxes

Souvenir Thermal mug included in the purchase of the program

Unfortunately, NCL doesn't offer alcoholic drink packages unless you are sailing with a group of 20 or more people, so you'll be paying individually for those.

Thinking of getting a couple of mugs/soda passes for the kids, what is to keep us parents from drinking from theirs?

Is the system similar to Disney's therme parks where there is a scan bar on the thermal mug?
