JJPacer Posted January 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2012 I have searched and searched for a map of where the lodges are located inside and outside the park. I haven't been able to find one. I'd like to find a lodge close to where the park shuttles leave from inside the park. I don't want to spend a lot of time taking the hotel shuttle to and from the boarding area for the park shuttles. Does anyone know where to find a map, or can you tell me of a lodge that is located close to the location where the park shuttles depart? Thanks. agabbymama Posted January 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2012 http://www.nationalparkreservations.com/maps/denali_map.php This is the best one I've found. It's an interactive map.
Cruiser304958 Posted January 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2012 http://www.nationalparkreservations.com/maps/denali_map.php This is the best one I've found. It's an interactive map. With only 2 entrance-area hotels it's pretty much usless for the planning the OP wants to do, though. The big hotel brokers have more hotels than that, but even so are far from complete. Basically, the are no hotels that don't require a shuttle unless you like walking a lot. Several hotels are within a mile of the bus pickup (the WAC), most within 2 miles. Chenega Posted January 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2012 Sorry but no hotels are close to the shuttle departure area. The many hotels that cater primarily to the tour groups are about a mile away in an area locals call "glitter gulch". There is a well maintained trail/bike path you can walk. JJPacer Posted January 12, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted January 12, 2012 I appreciate your answers! I was trying to find out if it was possible, and it's not. Thanks a lot! :p

If you want less expensive and/or a quieter atmosphere, no touristy shops and a short drive from the park entrance, stay in the Healy or Carlo Creek areas.
