When prices drop....

Just wondering how this works, If we book through an online site or travel agent vs through RCCL, is it only certain sailing that get reimbursed? or certain categories (inside, ocean view, balcony)? We've been looking into booking this week, the prices go up and down daily, sometime hourly.... We would love to get on-board credit for the difference if it drops. Thanks for any info~

no real rhyme nor reason to it..

 

You can only get a price drop OBC BEFORE final payment, and the lower price cannot be for new bookings only.

 

no way to know when or if a given sailing will have a lower price and sometimes it is only certain categories...if you've paid in full the difference will be OBC...if you haven't paid, then you pay a lower price...(meaning if you pay in full BEFORE the final payment date..)

 

after final, you can upgrade but you will not get any OBC....

 

make sure if you use a TA that they don't charge for changes..and if you're getting OBC from them for booking...if the cruise fare drops your OBC most likely will as well....

 

make sure you know all the cancel/change fees, etc......

you don't get OBC any more. If the price drops before final payment, your final amount is less than when you booked. If the price drops after final, nothing happens.

However, after final payment if a higher cabin category is priced lower than the cabin you are booked in, you can request an upgrade.

Wow, thanks for the info, it makes you wonder why anyone would pay in full early..... I had no idea, every cruise I've ever been on we've booked way in advance so the prices have only gone up. Thanks again!

It's not when YOU make final payment, it's when final payment is due.
