Alaskabound77 Posted January 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Hi all. I haven't been on here in forever but I knew this would be the place to find the most informative posts and thoughts on this disaster. So the blowing of rescue holes in the hull won't do much to help float this thing out of there, right?
oldplayer532 Posted January 17, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2012 With divers help 6 more bodies were found.
IkeEsq Posted January 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Hi all. I haven't been on here in forever but I knew this would be the place to find the most informative posts and thoughts on this disaster. So the blowing of rescue holes in the hull won't do much to help float this thing out of there, right? Rescue holes are about 6 feet across. Original gash in the side was a couple hundred feet long. I doubt the new holes will have any impact on the salvage effort.
Susie51 Posted January 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2012 The rescue holes are very minimal compared the huge gash in the hull. I'm glad they made the holes so that divers can locate more people. Is it too much to hope for that there might be air pockets so that some pax have survived? USNUZULOOSE Posted January 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2012 I hope they find more people who are alive. I still have hope.

StillPooh Posted January 17, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2012 I'm curious as to how they are going to right the ship from the water Seal the hull, pump out the water (and presumably the fuel, to lighten both the load and any potential environmental impact), and tow her to a shipyard.
