NOLA: how early can luggage be left with porters?

We would like to visit the aquarium the morning of embarkation, but usually like to be at the pier to check in around 11:00am. I am wondering if we would be able to check our luggage with the porters around 9:00am, walk to the aquarium, then be back to check in for the cruise around 11:00-12:00. Any ideas?

The earliest I have left my luggage with the porters was 9:30am. May be possible at 9.

When we were leaving the Magic last week... people were getting in line to board. They hadn't even cleared the ship of passengers yet. Sure, you could try 9:00. I'm sure by 9:30 you could check luggage.
