Does any transportation take you right to the cruise pier? All I have seen is the shuttles and buses that go to the Port Authority Terminal. Would a taxi go directly to the pier or also have to let you off at the Port Authority terminal? Our first time to NY...seems very confusing.

Please see my post on your other thread. Taxis go everywhere there is a public street and will definitely drop you off at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Port Authority Bus Terminal is an enormous bus terminal for local and long distances buses to drop off and pick up their thousands of daily passengers. There is a cab stand in front of the terminal - NY subways and buses are also near by.
